AMERITRASH - Broken |
Nothing `broken` here - Sometimes, it is just as simple as making a home-spun brew of passionate rock `n roll and Amertrash brings the party here. So much to like here, but I must mention the Rick Nielsen(Cheap Trick) inspired guitar lines all over this excellent, riff-heavy CD. Indeed, Ameritrash are living a dream: playing up reinterpretations of the songs of their young, updating the sounds of Cheap Trick, Kiss, early Aerosmith, late 70s skinny tie power pop and new wave yet echoes of modern rock are all over the place here(think Butch Walker, All American Rejects). It is feast of crushing riffs, riffy dynamics and super infectious melodies. "Broken" is filled with exuberant numbers whose driving rhythms and eminently hummable melody lines are the hallmarks of any well-written power pop composition but done with a clean retro flair that could reach to a larger audience but the only audience that matters is you and me and our eminent good taste in music that matters.
