Blankety Blank - Is This Your Pill

Talk about `classic Not Lame pop`!! We`ve been trying to get this CD in here for almost two years, intrepidly digging and digging deep to make the connection necessary to bring this out into the Not Lame light. Here`s a little list of the classic sounds here: Splitsville, The Rubinoos, Marvelous 3/Butch Walker, Jellyfish, Queen, Tsar, Cheap Trick, Fountains Of Wayne, The Elms, Bleu and The Churchills.... and on the more obscure side(well, for some you!) JTG Sound Implosion/Star Collector, The Rosenbergs, Maple Mars/OO Spies and more aggressive, updated sound of Danny Wilde`s Great Buildings band from 25 years ago. Translation: this is classic modern day power pop of the highest sort. The center piece of this album is the stunning "Plain and Ordinary", that takes the sting of classic Jellyfish and Queen`s slow building anthemics and creates a truly classic power pop song that I would argue is a hallmark song for the modern-day indie power pop sound in the 00`s.

"Rating: 5++. Charged up bubblegummy rock that is so upbeat and ultimately dandy that you can`t help but smile and tap your tootsies...wonderfully uplifting pure pop music with soaring melodies that sound not unlike Jeremy Morris. They are not afraid of sounding upbeat and positive..their songs are instantly addictive..and the vocals are absolutely out-of-sight!!!"-BabySue. It`s all very sexy and seductive with smooth guitar powered dynamics turned up to make sure it`s not too slick sounding or saccharine. Worth the wait? Listen on and let it be known it`s big time Extremely Highly Recommended!!

Is This Your Pill is REALLY Awesome!
Reviewer: Linley  Jones
I just saw that you guys added Blankety Blank's "Is This Your Pill?" to your catalog. Having seen these guys play live in the International Pop Overthrow Festival in Chicago, I immediately purchased their 9-song CD. (Their 5-song ep is excellent by the way, so you should sell that too!). "Pill" really does a great job of having something for everyone. With it's pop/punk flair, to it's Queen/Beatles vibe, you can put this CD on & get caught up in the melodies & hooky guitar lines instantly.
