UK only issue from Irish hard rock band *very* influenced and inspired by Thin Lizzy. Glyder are a band who have filled the gap between the trendy rock and rollers of the 21st century and the legendary classic rock of the 70`s--this is not a retro album. With an opening guitar line that comes straight out of the draw marked Thin Lizzy, these boys show with this album that, like Lizzy, they manage to capture that elusive quality of song writing, catchy meolodies and rocking riffs. "4 ½ stars. Glyder return with their second album and after a very strong debut album the expectations for this album are high. Luckily the band are more than up to this task and with Chris Tsangarides on the mixing desk again the sound is again top notch. Like their debut Glyder hint at what Thin Lizzy may have sounded like had they still been around today recording new songs - listening to `Walking My Own GroundÂ` it sounds like them. But Glyder are not copy cats, they merely listen to great music, soak up this and add their own sound. The title track is nothing short of a classic whilst `Puppet QueenÂ` is an instant hit and features some neat guitar work. The sign of a good album is variety and you have plenty on here with the closing song `The MerrygoroundÂ` taking the pace down a notch, with a slight 60Â`s feel to the sound and `For Your SkinÂ` has a modern rock feel, which will become a live favourate I am sure. The rhythm section are locked in nice and tight with some cracking drum parts, whilst the guitars are never in your face but an essential part of the bandÂ`s overall sound nonetheless. Many modern bands produce a classic debut only to fall way short on their follow-up album (like the Darkness) but Glyder have equalled, possibly beaten their debut release. All lovers of rock music will enjoy this album from a band that keep a 70Â`s rock feel alive and manage to add their own musical style as well. An album of the year and then some!"-Classic Rock.
