Well, this Canadian band used to be Harem Scarem, changed their name to Rubber(the most poppy of the two), then changed it back to Harem Scarem, but sort of as it still kept the Rubber tag, at the time. We are, too. This is classic AOR melodic hard rock with HUGE layers of awesome vocals and big anthemic guitar builds. It`s like the m issing Boston album from 1979 that never came out at about half the time here. But fans of both bands will find a balance two the HS`s glammy, hard rock, post-hair band Enuff `Z Nuff perfection and Rubber`s more overtly pop leanings. It can be schitzo, but it does work, rocks and pops. Like their last disc(but this one is much, much stronger), this hits the spot with Harry Hess` rich, expressive vocals, Pete Lesperance`s sizzling, creatively crafted guitar lines, and the duo`s wondrous chemistry as a songwriting team, the disc sparkles from start to finish. It`s all here: melodic rock/hardrock, AOR, power pop. Not for everyone, but those who are intrigued by what is written here, we think you`ll be very, very happy w/ the new one from Harem Scarem!
