Hellacopters - Supershitty To The Max

What the MC5 and Stooges were to the `60s, what Sonic`s Rendezvous Band and Radio Birdman were to the `70s, and what the Celibate Rifles were to the `80s that`s what Sweden`s Hellacopters were to the `90s. Young, strapping and rocking out to almost cartoon-like proportions, the Hellacopters have made quite a name for themselves in Europe and Australia. "4 stars... The Hellacopters were originally a side-project for Nicke Anderson, drummer with Swedish death metal gods Entombed and Ask Dregen, guitarist for fellow scandinavian rockers, the Backyard Babies. Their mission was to bring the blinding speed and distortion of Motorhead (with a little punk sensibility thrown in for good measure) to the 90`s, and this they did with Supershitty To The Max!. Opener "(Gotta Get Some Action) Now!" is simply brilliant, roaring like a Harley down the highway, shredding ear drums along the way. Though the pace abates somewhat three songs in, the distortion is on 11 throughout the record, yielding other gems such as "Fire Fire Fire," and "Tab." And the band proves they`re hard-core by putting a bonus track on the vinyl version rather than the cd."-AMG
