It`s been a few years since Butch Berry`s debut, Unlimited, was released. While we wait for the full length follow up, this 4 song EP will do very, very nicely. "Wrong Man", the lead off track, sounds like it walked off Jellyfish`s "Bellybutton"---so clear is the classic sound that I can envision the video that would go along with this. Worth the price of admission alone, me thinks--that good. Plenty of Matthew Sweet-like hooks, too. Like the debut, The Butch Berry Band blasts forth with a gripping control of pop formula that ekes of fresh fruit and sunny days. All the band`s songs are chock full of rambunctious, hard-strummed chiming guitars, seductive vocal harmonies and, of course, massive skyward hooks that evoke the word `classic`. Butch Berry could make Matthew Sweet blush like a chubby little schoolgirl on pharmaceuticals.
