Great, great music. If you have not heard The Animators` debut "Home By Now" check it out on this site, but "How We Fight" takes it up a notch. Like what is apparently their habit, this band just can`t help but make important, meaningful, challenging but easily accessible music. Yes, it`s very much
pop, ye tredid pop-soul. Indeed, like "Home By Now", this one has a rich,
multi-layered sound that covers an impressive breadth of sonic and emotional range. The Animators blend acoustic instruments and vocal harmonies with electronic textures and beats, creating modern pop songs that work like short stories and reminds us most of the fabulous Willie Wisely. Like Wisely, their savvy, insightful songs are both sophisticated and accessible, both intelligent and full of heart. Their confident sound evokes Peter Gabriel, Ben Folds and Simon & Garfunkel, the Postal Service and the Police. But for all their eclecticism and depth, the Animators never fail to deliver big choruses, undeniable melodies, and sticky hooks. But their sound is really their own. It`s pretty much impossible to say "Hey, The Animators
sound like "XXX" band(s)". We humbly ask you to spend some time w/
the six soundbites below...all the way through, if you can. The quality is
deeply embedded in each note, but it`s the album`s 12 songs that play like a full on song-suite and you really need to hear all the way through to fall completely in love with them. Which you will.
