The Badways are power pop band obsessed with garage rock, a sound not explored enough in the indie pop scene, in our opinion and a sound that is more the pleasantly refreshing in the hands of the jangling and ringing
guitars here on "Leave Her Alone". Like many of the better Rainbow Quartz
bands(well, you know, the label really doesn`t have a bad band in the stable, frankly), The Badways play bubblegum flavored pop garage. Melding of current Detroit scene sound with more tuneful modern rock and pop flavors. "4 out of 5.. Best described as happy garage rock by the Detroit News, Motor City`s The Badways, sounds most like an updated 60s rock band. The Badways combine traditional Detroit sounds such as a solid White Stripes` like guitar with the sweet harmonic sounds like the Beach Boys in their cd, Leave Her Alone. Motor City Girl,` whom the band dedicates their cd to, can be assumed a hometown favorite. The song highlights a solid classic sound with rough lyrics such as here she comes, she`s the one I hold like a gun. The song showcases amazing guitar solos as well as solid drums with a great mix of vocals. The song catapults listeners further into the cd. Don`t Wanna Talk About Her` keeps listeners on the ride of their life with a 90s rock sound combined with guitars that had my head bopping and my foot stomping as I listened. The shouting lyrics added to the overall feel of the sound making it a definite crowd pleaser.. The songs highlighted are just the beginning with this amazing musically-sound disc. With solid music throughout the cd showcasing evident talent, it can be expected that this hometown group will be yet another defining Detroit band in the near future."-FromTheGarage.com. "A happy-go-lucky garage rock band, poppy 60`s-influenced rock and roll."=Detroit News. "Like most music that manages to crawl from the beleaguered city, the Badways primary thrust is grim and gritty dollar-beer dive rock. Look a little deeper, however, and these tracks reveal a mingling of influences from mid-sixties bubblegum to early eighties alternative to haunting alt-country. Great stuff, indeed, with Motor City Girl, Ghost, and Everybody Thinks You`re Crazy serving as standouts."-Highway Land. "illed as bubblegum flavored pop garage, I think they have more flavor than pop or bubblegum and they dont belong in a garage. At first look at the art work I was reminded of the old pink panther movies, a early 70s Broadway poster or vinyl alum covers from the mid to late sixties Herb Alpert comes to mind. Their band photos are reminiscent of the start of rock and roll Buddy Holly in essence. Ahhh but their music is far from the sound or texture of yesterday. On to the music, I dont know where to start. I get the vibe of the late fifties early rock & roll overtones, yet as solid and to date as any CD you can pull off any shelf. Pop music is a genre that is about a sound that feels good, makes you move or want to move.. They have taken a look and vibe from how this thing we call ROCK & ROLL got started, incorporated talent and drive, mixed in a touch of Detroit flavor and produced and released what had better be
nominated for The Detroit Music Awards."TranZmissionTV. Very Highly
