Big Circle - Things May Change (Mark Roebuck of The Deal) | Big Circle is Mark Roebuck from The Deal, who Not Lame last year released their classic early/mid 80`s power pop recordings after being lost for too long of a time. Now, Deal leader Roebuck has unleashed a new project under the name of Big Circle and the band members he has gathered do his thoughtful and moving brand of power pop pay special attention with folksy, gently jangly arrangements. Many of these songs sound like an extention of later-era songs from The Deal---a very good thing----fans of The Deal will not find this a stretch at all. In fact, if this had the name `The Deal` on it, fans would cheer. There plenty of flair from the soaring flair of Posies-esque(Dear 23-era) and The Hollies(even a bit of C,S,N & Y) in the Vocal Department with the bounty of carefully layered vocal arrangements. You can tell these songs were written on acoustic guitar and taken to the band, who you can envision excitedly receiving because this material has some excellent arrangements and contributions from all players. Some truly outstanding and downright excellent songs are strewn all over this 14 song gem. Extremely Highly Recommended!

| Things May Change is a great Album | |
| Reviewer: Kevin Russell | | I'm fortunate enough to live in Big Circle's home town of Charlottesville VA and I make it to their shows whenever possible. I have a copy of Big Circle - Things May Change and I highly recommend it. When I first got the album I played it over and over and never got tired of listening. It has a lot of lyric and musical texture (whatever that means) that keeps bringing you back for more. |
