We love saying this phrase: "OH man, another great slice of pure power pop from Sweden!!". It`s one of many passions here at Not Lame, finding great Swede-pop(although, the band is based in the U.K.)! This UK import is another one to throw out into the mix, but what is really, really cool is they influences are different from a lot of their homeland breathen, this one falling into a more Posies-inspired realm. Witness the perfect "Frosting"-era sounds on "Where You Go" below. Whoa!! But it`s not a across-theboard-full-out Posies affair on every song, other influences like Elbow, Manic Street Preachers and Oasis. There`s not bad track in the bunch, such is the quality on this totally, criminally unknown band and 2004 release. "Nordic four-piece Costar are heating up the radar of tastemakers across the globe with its radiant guitar-pop anthem `Falling at my Feet`. The single sucks you in with its infectious guitar melodies and sing-a-long lyrics; this has the makings of a global hit! `Keep it Light` is a brilliant new album. What elevates Costar from the huge chasing pack of two-toned, polo neck posing revisionists is the ruthless way they`ve dissected, destroyed the main influences and rebuilt `em in tougher, 21st century ways, we have the technology and all that, but technology and a sonic honesty about your influences aren`t, in themselves, anywhere near enough. Costar are aggressive and inventive. Production is absolutely ace, check the jammed, but clean power-ballad `4 Days`, every piano strike audible in a well swirled mix, very sharp.""-Unpeeled Magazine.
