A classic Not Lame sounding power pop band, this one from the home of Barely Pink, Tampa, Florida. And like BP, The Edisons excel at arousing up sunny, filler-free and peachy keen pop that is filled with plaintive, colorful vocals, inviting and consistently memorable melodies and atoning hooks. Like we said, `a classic power pop sound`! The band mentions The Beatles, Tom Petty, REM, The Jayhawks and The Romantics as influences and, sure those are there, but we hear hints of Raspberries, Gin Blossoms, Klaatu(the title track is classic Klaatu), early 80`s faves like The Producers and Hawks. On the indie/DIY power pop side, we hear Blue Cartoon,The Dreamdayers, Barry
Holdship and Then, on such songs as "Just For You" you can hear The
Everly Brothers and The Searchers. Each song takes the formula of pop and stretch it in cool, subtle ways that work, probably because the spirit of
the band playing the material has been captured in the studio. "this is one fine pop album. When tracks don`t glisten with jangly guitar riffs, they still chime and overflow with catchy melodies and hooks. "Just For You" may be the most notable of the chiming tracks, but every track is a winner. I hear occasional references to the Rumors, Dom Mariani and DM3 and Diesel Park West - that means that this disc will stand the test of time."-Fufkin.com. These guys
live `n breathe some mighty fine sounds and it`s all captured on this crisp and richly produced gem of a entertaining and enchanting record. Extremely Highly Recommended!!
