Infinite Monopoly - Product 01A

Let me get this out of the way, up front: This CD is truly amazing and unlike anything I`ve heard--will definitely make my Top 20 for 2004 because of not only the uniqueness of its vision and commitment to new territories but because it does all that and manages to never lose focus of writing catchy, gripping songs. This is how pop can be truly progressive, kind of the way The Polyphonic Spree has done the last few years. The CD is an astounding accomplishment of storytelling though epic songwriting and production. There are so many paths the 45 minutes travels down here and the signposts, the musician influences blaze by in a blur but somehow a painting, an understanding emerges. Another thing about IM is that it travels to areas of the musical universe - and explores those areas using the same rules of science we`re all used to but have accepted without thought--then finds new ways to apply those accepted rules. Without prejudice, please soak in the following names and keep an open mind: "The Wall"-era Pink Floyd, Jellyfish, Rush "2112", Polyphonic Spree, The Zombies, Frank Zappa, Mr. Bungle/Faith No More, early/mid 80`s King Crimson, Beachwood Sparks and Queen. "an unconventional rock masterpiece"-RadioVista. The entire project is welcome accomplishment of poignant storytelling though epic songwriting and brilliantly stylized production. A huge production with massive sound, Infinite Monopoly is a strikingly unique and contemporary voice, at the same time paying subtle homage to all the aforementioned artists. It plays like a soon-to-be classic. Product 01A is the result of a collaborative effort between composer/songwriter/producer Barak Moffitt and producer/engineer Jim Schultz. Mastered by Grammy award winning engineer Gavin Lurssen (Pink Floyd, Tom Waits). A mind blower that pushes all the accepted rules and flies in the face of convention and we can only say God Bless this Inifinite Monopoly. Extremely Highly Recommended!
