One of the best finds this year was locating the Brothers In Stereo from Canada, who released an genius power pop classic that scores and scores of Not Lamers took our word for and snapped up. Why? Picture-Perfect, rich and intensely textured jangly power pop that was Grade A+. Brothers In Stereo are/were, indeed, brothers, Chris and Andrew LeDrew and now Andrew has released his first solo album that fans of BIS will go bonkers for because not only is it all in the vein of his previous band, it hones the corners of his craft, making tweaks to perfection and upping his own personal, creative stake in the songwriting process. Fans of Micheal
Carpenter`s releases will swear it`s Mr. Carpenter himself. Other artists LeDrew`s songs find kinship with are other Not Lame faves like James Cooper, Doug Powell, The Odds, The Pendletones, The Finn Brothers but the influence of Tom Petty and Chris Bell`s Big Star(and the perfect merging of both of these artists can be found on "Keep Holding On" below) work is undeniable. A fully evolved musical education of warm vocals, sugary strum and jangle, heavenly songs that reek of aching beauty. Andrew LeDrew is not only a force to be reckoned with on the modern-day power pop circuit, he could very well grow into an influence. Don`t be behind the 8-Ball and miss out on an important artist not only to be aware of but enjoy so much that it will feel completely nature to tell other music fans about. A Perfect
Jangle Gem!!
