UK only, CD with DVD and THIS is how reissues are done!! First off, a five star record, a perfect one. Second, there`s the obvious, obligatory extra CD of demos, alternate versions and unreleased songs(so 28 on the whole cd!) that, actually, are worth hearing and, finally, most importantly, an outstanding DVD that goes thru the whole history and making of the album and interviewing everyone involved. The 40-minute film also includes promo clips, previously-unseen live footage of The Jam at The Roxy Club and an exclusive solo acoustic rendition of English Rose by Paul at his rehearsal studio.Deluxe packaging - digi-pak, new liner notes, new interviews and rare period photos. Following the negative press for the band`s second album - The Modern World and rejection of songs for the follow-up, The Jam went back to the drawing-board for All Mod Cons. Consequently the album demonstrated a great leap in song writing maturity and featured some of their strongest material. Weller used his influences (notably The Kinks` Ray Davies) more creatively in a distinctive dissection of British life, allied to great tunes, impeccable playing and gave the band a renewed sense of purpose. "5 stars.. The youthful perspective and impassioned delivery on All Mod Cons first earned Weller the "voice of a generation" tag, and it certainly captures a moment in time, but really, the feelings and sentiments expressed on the album just as easily speak to any future generation of young people. Terms like "classic" are often bandied about, but in the case of All Mod Cons, it is certainly deserved."-AMG.
