just listen below and see how it hits you. Reminds us of 2006 stand-out,
Chris Brown, some Michael Penn 'n Ben Folds, maybe, but it's just
outstanding piano driven pure pop with some great arrangements. Thick with
sharp percussive rhythms, tinkling piano, great arrangements and, of course,
hooks and unforgettable grit. Holmes is brimming with influences from 70ıs
era American rock and The Beatles but is produced with an ear for multiple
genres and personal touches, effortlessly moving from tender to hard
grooving while always keeping a melodic core with Royıs intimate voice as
the anchor. So who is Holmes? He be singer/Songwriter/Producer Roy
Shakked. He enlisted the help a bunch of quality friends here, too ‹
Guitarist Lyle Workman (Sting, Beck, Frank Black), Drummer Ramy Antoun
(Seal, Alexi Murdoch), Cellist Sarah OıBrien (ELO, LA Philharmonic), Bassist
Brett Simons (Alexi Murdoch, Liz Phair), Bassist Travis Carlton (Larry
Carlton, Robben Ford) and other close pals ‹ Roy spent the summer of 2006
bringing to fruition a long overdue project. This is the fruit and it bodes
