JOEY O. Band - Still Dreaming (features Pezband members)
A record that evokes sweet memories of sunny, summer days from the late 70s in many spots. It`s mixture of styles here, but works best is when they stay focused on their roots and influences. Songs like "Be Here With You"(song #1 below) mix a popped up version of Southern Rock(think 38 Special`s Top 40 singles) and "Still Dreaming"(Song #2) continues in the same vein. When they go into the PoorMan`s Foghat/Fabulous Thunderbirds boogie it`s still pleasant but feels a bit strained yet the pleasures of The Joey O. Band easily hang tough and make this a surprising throwback that could have easily been recorded in 1977. God Bless `em! While not for everybody, by any stretch, if this has you curious AND you dig what you hear below there`s not doubt that this one is Highly Recommended!
