Linus Of Hollywood - Triangle

Linus Of Hollywood is back in 2006 and delivers another upbeat, highly infectious, radio-friendly package of pure-pop with impeccable vocal harmonies heard rarely in the genre of power pop. Not Lame has a exclusive, truly great special running until November 1st to celebrate the release of "Triangle". Read about it and stream the entire album at this link right now:

http://www.notlame.com/linusofhollywood.htm

Linus is a firebrand stamp of soft pop genius. All Linus` albums are filled with sunny AM-infused keyboard-based power pop, Linus` vocals are reminiscent of Gilbert O`Sullivan(an musical influence, as well) and the music is a potpourri of light-ly breaded pop for fans of The Nines, Lovin` Spoonful, The Left Banke, Jellyfish will gobble this modern day miracle: a record totally contemporary but dispatching the flair of genius past. Think Wondermints digging on Michael Brown instead of Bacharach. Or XTC eating lunch w/ Simon and Garfunkel and Stealers Wheel. Or.....well, David Bash, writer for countless zines and literary pop visionary has this some definite Jellyfish influences, and a childlike charm and purity on many of the tracks that Brian Wilson/Wondermints fans would definitely appreciate." Truly one of the more special artists in pop music. "Triangle" is one of the best records of the year. Listen to the stream to decide for yourself.

soldiers against mediocrity
Reviewer: edward  higgins
in a musical world filled with so much blandness and mediocrity, especially the major labels, it's refreshing to hear the excellent music created by linus of hollywood. i'm very fortunate to have all their cd's and i play them all on a regular basis. "triangle" is a great addition to their catalogue and i will echo the sentiments of mr. bodeen in saying this is one the best cd's of the year! if you love intelligent, melodic music, you owe it to yourself to obtain "triangle" along with all the other 'loh' cd's that you can find. unfortunately, a couple of the early ones are no longer available, and that is a true crime.

Best Album of the Year by leaps and bounds!
Reviewer: David  Enertson
Go to the link and stream this album! Then do it again...and then once more, this time with headphones. Listen to the mix down on this album.....amazing. All the instruments are mixed at the perfect levels; no one instrument is blaring out at you. Take a listen and you'll swear this guy spent a TON of money on studio time. Brilliant songwriting, incredible vocal arrangements and pure powerpop genius. This album stomps Linus's first two achievments and that is saying a LOT as those two albums were fantastic too! Linus is a well sought out producer in his own right so he knows what sounds good and he hands it out in heaping doses. Lot's of tight layered harmonies here for fans of the Beach Boys, Supertramp and Orleans. Of special mention, Linus should get some sort of award for being able to use a banjo throughout a song ("Starting Monday") yet not running those of us who dislike Country music out of the room. This one is awesome.

Super Powerpop!!!

Absolutely amazing cd,I can't stop playin it.It's by far the best Linus cd and has to be up there at the end of the year as one of the years best.My fave tracks would be ''Starting Monday'' and ''I'm Not so Great'' but every track is Awesome.Buy it!!!!
