"Your Favorite Record", the first Linus release, blew folks away with its soft-pop flourishes that evoked sunny early 70`s harmonies and pressure, certainly, was on this sophomore release to come up with more and make it as fresh sounding as the best selling debut. Simply, `done here in spades, baby`. Filled with even more sunny AM-infused keyboard-based power pop, Linus` vocals are reminiscent of Gilbert O`Sullivan(an musical influence, as well) and the music is a potpourri of light-ly breaded Fountains Of Wayne, early Bee Gees, Carpenters, Randy Newman/Harry Nilsson and XTC. This is not bread and butter on plain bread music, but a fully decked out display of ambition, new production techniques and challenged ambition to make his follow-up statement that he`s a talent to take seriously, now and tomorrow. The highest of Not Lame`s recommendations extended, once again, to Sir Linus.
