THE EASY OUTS - s/t

Whoa! Real rocking pop - pure, filtered with youthful energy and abandon, refined with a sharp sense of melody. The Easy Outs are a kick-butt pop band that `gets` the part about having fun and rocking out hard without pushing away the pop purist. Listen to the power, the excitement and energy pound its pop here. Start with Sample #1 below...and continue forth.

The Easy Outs shine a beacon for tuneful, crunchy and rocking power pop. It all drips with nice loud harmonies, uncanny, unpretentious knack for rocking hooks, and each song, loaded with passionate, loud riffs, ends quickly and knocks you on your roost. "A simply amazing collection of three chord rockers that will have you dancing around the room, two to three minutes at a time. The best numbers on the disc are "Little Miss Innocent," "I Ain`t Got Nothin", "I Walk Alone" and "Sweet Revenge." The songs don`t differ too much and the formula used by the two men is pretty much repeated throughout the entire CD, however, it is a damn good formula and the music is infectious and keeps calling the listener back for more. This is Ramones, Joan Jett and The Damned all rolled into one. Bottom line: Fun stuff from a genre that has been long forgotten--until now!" - Classic Rock Revisted. Don`t get the reference to The Damned there, except maybe vocally.

You know, before he died, Kurt Cobain was threatening in Rolling Stone to be working on a power pop album for Nirvana with great seriousness. Some of the songs on "The Easy Outs" sounds like something he may have done, come to think of it - Listen to sample #2 below for my defense of the hypothesis. Yet, at the end of every song on this album, there`s only large mountains of hooks flowing down the tops of these melodic peaks and ending up in a pile of ROCK ---all I can say is THIS IS ROCK `n ROLL, the kind that power pop fans, punk rockers, classic rockers can get behind and crank. Grade: SOLID Freakin` "A".
