I came across The Janglemen trolling the frustrating the experience that is called "MySpace surfing" a few years back and was immediately struck by the jangly dB`s-like "Her And I"(sample #4 below) and the absolutely wondrously jangling slo-burner "Tearjerker". Alas, no album was available, it was a digital only release. Thankfully, a few years later, leader Glenn Wall changed his mind and has pressed up a short-run of 10 beguilingly catchy pop tuneage. "The Janglemen certainly live up to their name and the album "Tearjerker and 9 others" offers listeners classic Roger McGuinn Rickenbacker guitar strum and catchy melody. You can`t get more "jangle" than this. Fans of Jamie Hoover, Bobby Sutliff, and even early Elvis Costello will enjoy this. The vocals are loose and the band has a punk swagger, so this is not a tribute band, but something different. "New and Different Ways" is a autobiographical track that even includes a dog bark in the chorus! If you ever wanted to hear a mix of Paul Westerberg and The Monkees - pick this one up!"- Power Pop Acholic. "This New York City band wins the Truth-In-Advertising Award; `jangle` is the operative sound here, and they`ll appeal big time to fans of Bobby Sutliff, Walter Clevenger, Roger McGuinn, etc. In other words, Rickenbacker heaven." - Absolute Powerpop blog. VERY Highly Recommended!
