The Black Mollys - The First One (Overnight Disgrace) | Holy Cow! This smokes huge billows of rocking power pop roll out of the rusty stacks of present day power pop, folks! If you like crunchy sweet `n loud guitars with your pop, it does not go down more smoothly or easy than with The Black Mollys. Fans of Fuzzbubble, Enuff Z`Nuff`s poppy stuff, Supermint, Cheap Trick(lots of that!), The Millions, really melodic King`s X and Marvelous 3/Butch Walker. Imagine if you had those gorgeous vocals of bands like The Tories The entire album is filled with song after song of slammin` power chord Saturday morning anthems for cool kids playing guitars for no one but themselves. WOW! The flash and flamboyant churning guitars don`t let up. Raucous, yet stylistic as they blunt their way along. This is loud, catchy grinding power pop. The hooks are monsters - simply massive. Sharp, shredding guitars, strong doses of melodic fury. Really the best signpost is Cheap Trick and King`s X and it works on all levels. It`s a Bic lighter ready to rise to the sky with every anthemic chorus. Extremely Highly Recommended!!

| The Black Mollys--Overnight Disgrace | |
| Reviewer: Whit www.whitsbrain.com | | The Black Mollys rip one out of the rock and roll park with "Overnight Disgrace". The Black Molly's offer up an extremely solid slab of melodic, loud rock here. Tory Stoffregen appears to be a master of the guitar riff and this release is proof, packed with 13 terrific tunes with not a trace of filler to be found. The Black Mollys' music is part Cheap Trick, part Lit, a little Nirvana with some King's X bottom thrown in for good measure. |
