Terry Anderson - I`ll Drink to That

Now, this IS rock `n roll. No frills, no B.S. No way to ignore a big `ole smile! Looking for that long lost NRBQ record, something that embodies that bands` wacky, yet tune eclecticism? You just found out! After a two much-accoladed discs on ESD in the early/mid 90`s, Terry Anderson blasts back into our lives with the best "Q"-sounding record since "Grooves In Orbit" and, hey, even Big Al Anderson (NRBQ) co-writes and helps out with singing on a few songs, as well. Roots-rock swagger ladled with refined melodic soul for catchy sing-a-along choruses that will elicit streams of "whussups" as you order another Bud for your pals. Flashy rawk guitars, lunatic fringe vocals and humor-filled lyrics that are sure-footed and irreverant. God bless the boy now and always as records like this just don`t get made anymore and remind us all why we just want to have fun and rock out sometimes. A spontaneously good time will be had by all!

"4 stars..I`ll Drink To That is a loose and spirited affair, inspired by a memory of a Dave Edmunds concert that knocked him out..Anderson whips through 45 minutes of happy-go-lucky American roots rock with nods to Chuck Berry, Edmunds, the Georgia Satellites (who had a hit with his "Battleship Chains" back in the day), and NRBQ, whom he calls the best band in the world, and whose ex-guitarist Al Anderson (no relation) guests on some tracks..This won`t change the world, of course, but it`s all good, relatively clean fun (with the possible exception of "Safety First," an upbeat ditty about condoms), featuring snappy word play and a feisty attitude that sounds like he and his equally energetic backing musicians were having a blast recording this no-frills album. Recommended for fans of boozy, down-to-earth guitar rocking and anyone else looking for a rollicking time."-AMG.

Everyone who loves rock n roll should own this disc!
Reviewer: Michael  Kelley
Again, Terry Anderson shows his gifted song writing abilities and with a little more humor this time around. The musicianship is superb. Terry and Dave Adams did a hell of a job on this disc, very clean and crisp, yet full sounding, a true pleasure to listen to. Everyone who loves rock n roll should own this disc. I can't wait for his next solo effort.
