Paper Or Plastic have been around for a handful of years but this is the first weÂ`ve heard of them and ---- what have we been missing?!? Classic Not Lame styled piano-driven power pop but the guitars are turned up alongside those ivories so donÂ`t be thinking this is early Ben Folds although IÂ`m sure he was an inspiration for some in this band as itÂ`s all about bouncy, biting melodies here on "DonÂ`t Be Like That". So yes, come to think of it, if you dig the idea of excellent Ben Folds Five sounds(w/ lots of guitar bluster all over the place) that blend sunny AM radio vibes, delicious & tasty multi-part harmonies and tender, careful melodies, youÂ`ve found it. As for other influences, thereÂ`s classic Squeeze and maybe a bit of early Joe Jackson. Fans of The Argument, sadly gone, will be very happy to discover Paper Or Plastic, trust us there.
