Second solo project from ex-Cherry Twister member, Mike Giblin and, like the first one("Oblivious"), is one mighty excellent slab of truly indie power pop that will appeal to any and all Cherry Twister fans, but there`s much more going on here. There`s a lot of sunny, bright `n spunky sounds going on here. The similar sounding/`sounds like` bands/artists only dip `n dash in and out of focus here, as Giblin has a style and sound of his own. But you`ll hear ehoes, vague, happy reminders of not only Cherry
Twister(naturally) but The Nines, Redd Kross, Splitsville, Raspberries, Shoes and early 70`s AM Radio summer hits(think Gallery, First Class and Gilbert O` Sullivan, for those in the know). It`s original, cool and classy
material all around. Sprinkled throughout are delicate harmonies and keen
observations on lives that are colliding, expanding, and falling apart, with the unifying elements being Michael`s inviting voice and his distinctive perspective as a songwriter. Parallax Project has the right combination of harmonies, the right batch of unusual chords, a keen sense of classic pop melody than most and the quirky sensibility to give it all a unique voice. Holy Cow, this is great! Btw, "Oblivious", the debut, is out of print and we have the last copies of this one left, so don`t wait there. Here? No brainer, big time Extremely Highly Recommended!
