Gotta a love a record by a band name Rookie Card that comes complete with, um, a trading card! This 6 song EP(along with some sonic short snippet and 2 additional bonus live tracks) clocks in at almost 30 minutes and is a very strong debut by a band that brings to mind the new wave pop of Deathray, the catchy riff magic of the best of Pavement, some Replacements mid-western twang and C a knack for infectious, quirky melodies with a strong sense of humor ala They Might Be Giants. Judging from the strong material contained on this debut release, Rookie Card could very well turn into an Most Valuable Player(MVP) candidate on the near horizon! Very Highly Recommended!
