Special. The MI hallmarks are here: edgy, clean anthemic guitars pounding
away against pile-driving choruses that know their way around hammering home the pay-off hook. On the more obscure side they remind of us of a few bands on our own label, Receiver and The Dons, as well as, on the more obscure side, the sadly departed Uptown Sinclair. The sound is clean and uncluttered, giving the space to let the great pop here shine in a simple, uncomplicated backdrop. Wise - This restraint is unusual these days and it helps make Sketch Middle standout because the gigantic hooks, dense gleaming sheets of guitars and Ellison-like vocals is all we need here.
