Stratocruiser - Suburban Contemporary | One Word: Classic. Stratocruiser deliver the album that their previous one hinted at. Stratocruiser combine a blend of rock, power pop, garage, addicting melodies and a dollop of psychedelia and surf to craft(and that is the operative here) superlative power pop. With Clay Howard`s lead vocals many times remind of the great Pat DiNizio(Smithereens) and other times his Carmen-esque croon colors these songs with different texture. When the best material`s crescendoes hit, they *hit* big `n hard. Cool heavy guitar riffing from lead guitarist Mike Nicholson is like a panzer attack while its charm scorches inside the pure pop delight. It`s all wrapped up with a driving urgency and bristling excitement. The band is proud of their vintage keyboard textures and guitar sounds and incorporation of musical touches which make melodic indie pop the beautiful thing it is. As they should be. All the material is filled with creamy, finely accented examples of what fresh pop can and should sound like. It`s a pathos of pure suitably shimmering, powerful pop. "Oh Yeah! This is rock and roll! Think what would happen if The Kinks got together with The Beatles and The Kinks and you get an idea of the arena ready power pop that is Stratocruiser...one kick ass CD. Really killer stuff!"-PopBangRadio. "One that that comes through loud and clear on track after track is that these guys are rock and roll through and through - this isn`t a band showing off their record collection, but skilled musicians working with a really large toolbox and having loads of fundoing it. This is automatically pleasing, hard rocking power pop"-Fukfin.com Huge Kudos for delivering a fresh patch of great music! Extremely Highly Recommended!
