THE GAMILONS - Blue Whisper (CD EP) |
Produced by solo pop extraordinaire and ex-Starbelly member, Cliff Hillis, The Gamilons` debut would naturally catch my ear based up on that fact. Fortunately, the 3 songs here that serve as an introduction to the band very nicely, the 3 songs more than subtly hint as great things to come. Lead off track "Blue Shadows" is the immediate grabber here reminding me of Hillis` solo work and a more acoustic side of Matthew Sweet. The other two songs remain simply adorned with straightforward, acoustic driven arrangements and find a way to hit their mark. I look forward to hearing more to come from The Gamilons and for now, this short sampling will do quite fine!
