The Hush Sound offer something different than the monotony of today`s oversaturated music scene. This indie-folk-pop-rock band spurts out songs full of catchy guitar riffs, uplifting piano parts, and layered male/female vocals. Their style is hard to pinpoint, but it`s original and imaginative. Influences range from Paul Simon, Ben Folds to The Shins to The Format. The album bridges an expanse between invitingly catchy pop buoyancy
and a certain emotional and intellectual depth The Hush Sound has never
fully explored before. Standout tracks like Medicine Man , Honey and
Hurricane reveal not only the group s new sense of maturity, but their
burgeoning skill for sculpting emotive, relatable songs that exist not just
as moments of music. “3 ½ stars. But when the bandmates are on -- when Greta Salpeter leads her boys through the sexy stomp of "The Boys Are Too Refined" and the poppy big band strains of "Medicine Man"”-AMG.
