Six new songs from The New Fidelity who have managed to pump out a new release the last three years and one listen to lead of track "Simple Things"(track #1 below) and, if you are hard-pressed to want to hear more, usher yourself in a new direction to find out what works for you as it won`t work here. Okay, that`s a bit harsh but their mixing early Joe Jackson and classic New Zealand power pop of the 90s is something that gets me lit up. This time they mix in some soul into the mix - think late-period of The Jam. It still reminds me a lot of The Connells and some of those aforementioned New Zealand pop bands like The Bats and Straightjacket Fits but with a distinctively mod-pop twist. Each listen reveals something new, some new vibe to latch onto that listen earlier did not even hint at. Layers of sublime nuance and easy-to-enjoy, hard driving guitar melodies. You`ll find elements of American garage, soul, jangly mod-pop power pop all mixed up in this honest, gritty and splashingly refreshing slab of tailored energized music. Six songs - delivering the goods. VERY Highly Recommended!
