2005 release from the fabulific, most rocking Terry Anderson, his first album since Not Lame`s "I`ll Drink To That" from 2000 and it`s, stylistically, his most accomplished, polished and, of course, holding the promise of rocking hard. It`s an ass-kicking good time, just like the Rock
`n Roll Doctor ordered. Like all his records, it`s like finding that long
lost NRBQ or Rockpile record. Roots-rock swagger ladled with refined melodic soul for catchy sing-a-along choruses that will elicit streams of "whussups" as you order another Bud for your pals. Flashy rawk guitars, lunatic fringe vocals and humor-filled lyrics that are sure-footed and irreverant. God bless the boy now and always as records like this just don`t get made anymore and remind us all why we just want to have fun and rock out sometimes. A spontaneously good time will be had by all! "For the most part, the self-titled debut rocks right along in trademark Anderson fashion thanks to the likes of "Purple GTO," "Feel a Drunk Comin` On," and the mission statement "You Know Me," echoing both the straight-ahead pubjoy of Rockpile and the Southern-fried Face-isms of the Georgia Satellites. Think of them as a band that could play at the garagey Sleazefest, the pop-rocky Sparklefest, and St. Louis` rootsy Twangfest (and has, in fact, appeared at the first two) without fitting snugly into any of the three. But the album also pauses for a couple breaths, specifically on the wonderful mid-tempo pair of "Raindrops" and "Inez" (the latter featuring expressive keyboard work from Rice that nudges the song unapologetically in the NRBQ direction) and the almost literally sobering album-capper "Rehab.""-Rick Cornell, Independent Weekly. As AMG said about Terry, "Recommended for fans of boozy, down-to-earth guitar rocking and anyone else looking for a rollicking time". As Terry himself says: "In a world of lullaby rock and sensitive songwriter dude, a good ol dose of Rock and Roll is needed every once in a while to remind you why the good Lord gave you feetfor dancin!" Extremely Highly Recommended, big `ole time!
