The Come Arounds - What Goes Around |
Ain`t nothing like a bunch of guys getting together to share the love for surf-pop. This is like listening to The Beach Boys and the Trashmen playing "Wipe Out" but with a bit of Mersey-Beat(think Bobby Fuller) love thrown in - from beginning to end. Also, reminds me of a lot of the power pop bands that would appear on Bomp Records for one 7" single, never to be heard from again. You can just feel the blisters that the guitarist in this band is pushing out, working his best fiery Dick Dale shredding finger picking. While the band is based in Boston, the undertow(sic) pulling this band is all West Coast sunshine and the surging, thrilling, Panzer-tank like surf rhythms just don`t let up. the pace is furious and relenting, like ocean waves. Plays like a homegrown love letter from winter-torn New Englanders who can`t wait to get into the sun. Play "What Goes Around" and find yourself transported the sounds of 1964, Malibu. Very Highly Recommended!
