The Invisible Mind Circus - Look Inside |
I`ve not heard a power pop record like this in a few years. Back in the mid/late 90`s Not Lame received a good lot of projects that had this style...bands like The Tearaways, The Odds, The Golden Apples, Blue Cartoon come to mind. But these boys have spent a lot of time with The Smithereens so fans of Pat and the boys will definitely want to check this out! With a singer that sounds like a bit like Walter Clevenger fronting a jangle-roots-power pop band, The Invisible Mind Circus have turned up the jangle channel to `high` and for some reason this band reminds me of bands like The Reivers, Grapes Of Wrath and even The Windbreakers in a few spots. Lovely, gorgeous vocals and melodies flow in and fill every imaginable crack with pop perfection. The guitars stitch patterns of simple chords but they end up on a mosiac that makes pop-sense. Song after song(there`s 13 here..just right!) of sweet, unaffected vocals combine with sharp, crisp and woozily powerful hooks and just hit this pop fan just right! Extremely Highly Recommended!
