2005 release from The Rye Catchers, who had an album on this site some years back that was big fave with a lot of Not Lamers. The followup has finally arrived...and well worth the wait! With top-shelf production, clean, crisp guitars and lots of British-styled pop melodies, The Rye Catchers sounds like a clean, pure pop version of Oasis. They remind us a lot of Supergrass and Dodgy, two of the very best bands to come from Britain in the last 10 years and also Swedish pop band, Popium and Soundtrack Of Our Lives in a lot of spots, too..the bass lines here are so McCartney-esque in that they add another layer of melody underneath the main, guitar driven one. Well, we
*love* that! There`s some cool 60`s mod vibes and spirited chord-driven and anthemic guitar arrangements--which is where the Oasis comes into the picture. It`s bright, harmonic pop with Inventive, intelligent and truly luminous arrangements - Steady beats, tight melodies and a dreamy quality to all the songs. Extremely Highly Recommended!
