P. Hux - Mile High Fan (Parthenon Huxley)

Tens of thousands of artists struggle to get that major label deal. A fraction of 1% of get in the ring. What’s on it? Here ya go with few notes from Parthenon about them:

Track #1: "Live Like A King"--performed live at the Greek Theater, Los Angeles, 1995. Parthenon: “We'd just released "Deluxe" on Black Olive Records and were doing shows to promote the record. My friend Robert Lamm invited us to open for his band, Chicago, at the Greek Theater. The recording is a "board" tape--direct from the mic inputs--so there's no hiding anything.

Track #2: Chance To Be Loved"--multi-tracked acoustic guitar-and-vocal demo. Chance To Be Loved was the opening track and first single on my CBS debut Sunny Nights. It was a multi-layered, almost conceptual piece. Not a typical single, and not a typical song from me, either. This version is stripped down to guitar and vocal. I like it. It allows you to hear how the song could've been produced very differently.

Track #3: "Spanish Lucy in the Magic Diamond Sky Castle." One day
sometime in the early 90's I just had a weird notion that this would work: mix the music of Spanish Castle Magic by Jimi Hendrix with the melody and lyrics of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. Call it a pre-digital Mash. We used to play this live, and I remember seeing some heads in the crowd do the Puzzled Dog move: a small tilt to the side as if to say, "Huh?" I always loved playing this one.

Okay, that is one cool thing. But we have *more*.
