THE BOOLEVARDS - Real Pophttp://www.notlame.com/CDBOOLEVARDS.htmlTHE BOOLEVARDS - Real PopTHE BOOLEVARDS - Real PopNo truer title will you see in the coming weeks, folks. The Boolevards play `real pop`, the kind of power pop that fans of the late 70s skinny tie power pop crave. Take a moment, right now and listen the sound below - I put plenty up for you to sample. If you are a fan of the bands on Titan Records, early The Romantics, The Flashcubes(big time!), The Scruffs, The Heats, The Wigs, The Poppees, early The Rubinoos, "Shake Some Action"-era Flamin` Groovies -- well, you have found a slice of heaven to jump all over with "Real Pop". <p> This could have been the second Wonders cd after `That Thing You Do`. Translation: Celebrate!! It really is a major find for fans of this era and will surprise many, many folks. Quite awesome! The spirit of these classic hooks and magical backward glancing threaten to overwhelm the power pop fans, that is how classic the sounds of this album are for fans of this period of `power pop`. Using some of the classic instruments of the great Mersey Beat era (Rickenbacker 12 & 6 string guitars with some acoustic guitar in for flavoring) & utilizing classic mersey recording styles (double track vocals, very clean guitar sound, two part harmony, plenty of backround oohs & aahhs, The Boolevards are a major find and Extremely Highly Recommended. <p> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards114.mp3"><img src="http://www.notlame.com/images/ear.jpg" width="20" border=0 alt="power pop, independent music"></a> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards114.mp3">Song #1</a> - mp3</p><p><p> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards103.mp3"><img src="http://www.notlame.com/images/ear.jpg" width="20" border=0 alt="power pop, independent music"></a> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards103.mp3">Song #2</a> - mp3</p><p><p> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards101.mp3"><img src="http://www.notlame.com/images/ear.jpg" width="20" border=0 alt="power pop, independent music"></a> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards101.mp3">Song #3</a> - mp3</p><p><p> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards102.mp3"><img src="http://www.notlame.com/images/ear.jpg" width="20" border=0 alt="power pop, independent music"></a> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards102.mp3">Song #4</a> - mp3</p><p><p> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards115.mp3"><img src="http://www.notlame.com/images/ear.jpg" width="20" border=0 alt="power pop, independent music"></a> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards115.mp3">Song #5</a> - mp3</p><p><p> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards109.mp3"><img src="http://www.notlame.com/images/ear.jpg" width="20" border=0 alt="power pop, independent music"></a> <a href="http://www.notlame.com/audio/cdboolevards109.mp3">Song #6</a> - mp3</p><p>http://www.notlame.com/THE_BOOLEVARDS/Page_1/CDBOOLEVARDS.html
