Quote me but I am fully confident it will stand tall come January in a Top 3 spot. Rarely will you hear an artists who can pull of the classic inspirational sounds of 70s Queen with not only confidence with chops and what follows is natural. Jellyfish and Bleu fans rejoice most massively! Vocally fix reminds me of a mix of Freddie Queen and Jay Ferguson(Spirit, Jo Jo Gunne) but this is all POP. BIG TIME greatness. Glory To The Heavens - please, just listen below. You do not hear it, well, I apologize for wasting yr time, but for 95% of you out there, you will agree, freak-out, wig-out, celebrate and be thankful, okay? Here is the sick-thing: With the exception of the drums, every vocal and vocal harmony, every bass line, every guitar solo, every classical piano run, percussion groove, soundscape, drum loop, handclap, footstomp, glockenspiel, shaker and cowbell(!) - everything is - JOSH FIX. It is such a fully evolved, creative execution of high-music art it is hard to believe there is not much input from other talents.
Now, I am not the only one - check this review out: "World, meet your next big star. In Josh Fix we have yet another ultra-talented, ultra-passionate rising star in a genre where there is always room for new talent. His debut Free At Last is going to be a staple of my rotation for awhile and I am already eagerly awaiting more from this amazingly fresh new artist. Do not Call Me in the Morning is a great first single from the album, as it is upbeat and has a little bit of what is in every song on the record: amazing piano, amazingly poetic and fun lyrics, and a simple, clear message. This is the first debut album that I have heard in a long time that does not have multiple weak tracks. I see potential hit after potential hit on here, ranging from the wacky, upbeat Jethro to the slowed down Free at Last to the insanely great Tiger on a Treadmill. This is a great CD. " - Music Reviews.
"an amazing ear for majestic pop. His voice does at times strongly evoke Freddie Mercury, and he channels a sense of classic `70s rock and infectious pop in his songwriting. The comparisons aren`t all that preposterous after all."-Boston Herald.
It is a lush, ambitious album that is a perfect amalgam of brainy songwriting, complex arrangements and heavenly harmonies which will yield a diabetic coma as it is so sweet and pure, it hurts. Yup, Massively Extremely Highly Recommended!
