Vocally, "Ice" sounds like classic Gibb Brothers combined with Blue Nile vocalist Paul Buchanan, musically evokes the same exact combination with some moving Doug Powell spirit. It`s a stunner of a track that we can`t get enough of. The Powell comparisons remain thru much of "Possible", we hear some Gin Blossoms-with-less-jangle(witness "Color On Color" which perfectly blends Gin Blossoms, Crowded House and grounding late-era Beatles influences), as well. Hawkins` melodies are inventive and filled with confident chord changes to make this rise up strongly against any cookie-cutter pop criticisms. It`s all very radio-friendly but not overly sweet.
