Kelly`s Heels - Dig In!

We love Kelly`s Heels. You should, too. Why? They do the Beatles, 70`s skinny tie power pop angle better than 99% of the bands out there, fact. Kelly`s Heels evoke a long line of favorite bands, a short list which would include: Everly Brothers, The Who, The Toms, The Scruffs, The Rubinoos, Rocpile, poppy pub-rock(think Ducks Deluxe), Raspberries, early The Rooks, more recently Mark Bacino and that little band from yesteryear, The Beatles. As we have said before here, "Kelly`s Heels is doing some of the finest, most consistently listenable, Fab Four-inspired, power pop on the planet." "Dig In!" is the most recent release from Australia`s growing, excellent label, Popboomerang. And, here, on this compilation they cherry pick from all Kelly`s Heels album, as well as the earlier incarnation of the band, The Ashes and then stir in a couple of unreleased tracks and a handful of remixes from the 3rd Heels album, Bent Over Backwards. For good measure there`s even a remix taken from last years Three Chord Brag. 7 of these 18 trax are, in fact, re-mixing upgrades from their earlier version providing more punch and power. It`s fruity and tangy. Something like smelling salts to your poor, modern rock-abused tastes. No screaming here, folks- except from the audience. None of your body cavities will feel invaded, no sharp prickly sensations in your navel. No co-dependent, suicidal love songs. Just good, wholesome, fully-flavored pop you can savor. Outstanding, first-rate power pop done as only Kelly`s Heels can. Extremely Highly Recommended!
