The Nevers - Someday, Maybe Never

The Nevers released a really strong debut a few years back and now follow up with even stronger material and an aura of confidence, the sound of a band finding its footing and pushing forward. The Nevers are have members of The Accelerators and The Hanks in the midst and, "Someday, Maybe Never", their brand of pop is in the vein of Blue Cartoon, Crash Into June and later-day 20/20. We hear reminders of The Producers and The Rembrandts all over the place. Clean Guitar hooks rule here as do instantly memorable and sparkling, simple instrumentation---this is not over-dub city, it`s direct and unpretentious and it`s one of the releases many strong suits. Their songs are simply, effectively layered and captivating, with juicy riffs and scintillating vocals that melt like chocolate.

The Nevers master the 3 minute pop song with big melodies, right and edgy sound and highly developed vocal harmonies. The bright and hook-laden melodies are always draped cool hooks and gentle harmonies. There`s a constant stream of timeless pop hooks, splendorous guitar jangle, concisely and rich melodies.
