Paste - Waste

Swedish import and very, very limited with only 500 copies pressed up. Paste has long been a favorite here. All you have to do is check out their previous releases, Sequel, Superpop and their Wired EP. This 13 song CD, to quote the band, `is not to be seen as a `new` album. It`s not even to be seen as an album. To celebrate our first 10 years, we release this `resume`. A resume of songs, during 10 years, that didn`t make it to a release. Some songs were recorded as demos, some recorded before we got the sound we have today. We hope that you enjoy these songs and treat them for what they are. "

Well, many of these songs are better than they make them out to be above! At times, Paste has the classic Swedish Pop sound(Eggstone, The Merrymakers, Beagle) but they blend that solid-base with more modern touches that we see acts like The Wondermints, The Pooh Sticks and Tears For Fears. Glorious and undeniably a-must for fans of classic, vocal driven power pop. All this with vocal harmonies from Mikael Frithiof and Thomas Johansson that bring the asssured and incredibly strong Hollies-inspired blending that Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer do so beautifully with The Posies. Paste is special band and this is great gift to their fans who appreciate the opportunity to hear as much from the band as possible! again, very very limited!
