Dave Stephens - Here We Go...

WOW! What an awesome home-grown mixture of early solo McCartney, Emitt Rhodes, a dash of Jellyfish-inspired bands like Checkpoint Charley and Vinyl Candy(witness the song "I Wish In So Many Ways" below for an example of this). But the person he most reminds me of is Doug Powell, vocally and with much of the material here. A high compliment, indeed. Stephens grounds all his songs` craft on the piano, which means he knows how to write. The Witness here? Pretty much all of the 13 songs here. He`s going to have a new one coming very soon, but this one is sure one helluva primer and introduction to a new talent in the indie power pop world.
