" I really shouldn`t like Jake Stigers music since it`s filled with blues, Rolling Stones sounding rock and even some country influences. People who knows me well, knows that I barely ever listen to blues, Rolling Stones or country music but Jake`s got something that appeals to me. Perhaps it`s his cool "It`s only rocknroll" attitude and his lovely voice that speaks right to your heart, I know for sure that when artists play their music with a lotta soul and do it real good - I can listen to nearly anything as long as it`s for real and has plenty of melodies. Jake`s got all that, he payed a visit in powerpop land on his previous album "Comin` back again" but you can`t hardly find any traces at all of his The Rembrandts type of songs on the new album. I wonder if he`s sitting at home listening to Gregg Allman all day long coz I feel Gregg`s spirit all over this album in a bluesy kinda way. The midwest rocker "She`s a woman" is my favorite but I also find the short acapella track "Slow time" very amusing to listen to, not to mention the pubrock of "Tomorrow never comes" that smells Sammy Hagar for miles in his Cabo Wabo style.
