2008 2 CD set of rarities from Superdrag!! 39 songs! �I've gotten to spin this whole opus a few times now and even though it is rough in places, it's still diamonds in the dirt, baby. These songs were all recorded between 1992-1995, which would predate any of their formal releases. Many of these songs showed up on their first EP (The Fabulous 8 Track Sounds of Superdrag, 1995), or first full-length (Regretfully Yours, 1996). But these demos trace an interesting evolution, sometimes with more than one version of the same song from different years -- the full-on Weezeresque "Six-Eight" is showcased both as acoustic and fuzzy-screaming electric. The demos preserve all of the young, explosive, roughhewn punk-pop glory of Superdrag.�-FuelFriends.

��Demo,� especially when preceded by �4-track,� is synonymous with �rough draft,� �throwaway,� �factory second��or first, as it were. They�re rough cuts of songs whose best face was put on later and put out long ago. It�s fanboy material, and while there�s lots of adoring Superdrag fans out there, enough to run through the limited tour-only pressing of this two-disc, 40-song collection, the value of this package is largely contextual. Do we really need to hear an archaic version of �Sucked Out�? Or any partial-birth abortions from Superdrag�s nascence? Depends. The perspective that disc one�s muddy run-throughs provide ain�t so compelling. Maybe five of the 22 tracks create that compulsory magic carpet ride where enchanted choruses and triumphant guitars are the wind beneath the beer-soaked stage rug. Mercifully, disc two, the Complete Bender Sessions, contains fuller, fleshier demos (including many of the disc one tracks) for the Superdrag experience we crave.�-Paste. LIMITED!! Song #1 - mp3
