Jon Yeager - Foi (The Daybirds)

Not Lame was big fans of the Daybirds, a talented power pop band from more than five years ago who really struck a chord with many of you and then, sadly, broke up. Jon Yeager was the contributing songwriter and singer in that band and, here in 2006, he returns with his first full length solo affair, which follows his debut EP "Truth & Volume"(still available!). Like this EP, musically and lyrically there`s much to take in here on "Foi". "Yeager aims for a place inhabited by a wide range of songwriters, from Pete Yorn and Gavin DeGraw to Howie Day and Elliott Smith, though his music sounds directly like none of theirs. He creates a mix of electric and acoustic rock, adult-pop and alt-folk thats smart, melodic and catchy and beefed-up with some slick production that adds ballast and embellishments where needed. The music perfectly suits Yeagers` lyrics, which go where bands like Coldplay have gone into matters of a gentlemans heart and mind.
